New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory | Este Darin-Cooper
With a diverse career across the public, private, not-for-profit and artistic sectors, Este brings a wealth of experience in building sustainable, effective and resilient organisations. Este has been deeply connected to the arts and funding community as an adviser, board member, philanthropist and advocate.
After studying Law/Engineering at the University of Melbourne, she practiced at top-tier commercial law firms, before joining the Federal Government in a role advising Government, businesses, not-for-profits and start-ups on emerging technologies and data policy.
More recently Este worked at Social Ventures Australia – initially in the Consulting team and then as Director of Venture Philanthropy, where she partnered directly with funders and early-stage community-led organisations to resource, prove and grow more effective models for addressing disadvantage. As part of this, she led the team’s design and delivery of coaching and mentoring support to social sector leaders working in urban and regional settings, and across cultural groups.
As a co-founder and director of a philanthropic foundation that invests in the arts, Este has led collaborative partnerships with the arts sector, designed innovative impact investments and provided 1:1 advisory support to arts organisations to diversify their revenue.
She is currently a board director of Force Majeure and Beyond Empathy.
